I am planning on moving from Wisconsin to Laughlin, Neveda and need to find credible health insurance coverage before I can get picked up by a group plan through employment in my new location.
I run a real estate office in CA with approximately 60 1099 independent contractors. Is it possible to form a large group and obtain a policy for all without the 'employer' having to contribute? The majority of people here don't have insurance, and some can't obtain any on their own. I would love to be able to set them up in a group, but I can't afford to pay for them all.
OK, group health insurance rates are much cheaper than individual or small business rates. So what you do is you form a "shell" company that "hires" people without health insurance, thus enabling you to obtain group rates and pass it on to these people.

Our employer managed to get Anthem Blue Cross to change our insurance plan effective Jan 1…..but we didn't know until 2 weeks into the year. In fact, the bookkeeper told me AFTER the 1st of the year the company was working to get the plan switched – and BACKDATED — to something way cheaper for them and way higher for us. Is this legal???

My cobra policy ran out 12/31/07 and I start a new job on 2/4/08. There is a 3 month waiting period for the new group policy to take effect. That will put me over the 63 day period time lapse and I will loose coverage on my pre-existing conditions. Does anyone know of a company that offers stop gap short term coverage that accepts Type II diabetics? Thanks for the help.
I live in the US in Wisconsin.
I have an individual policy with Blue Cross and Blue Shield. When I first obtained the policy (after a switch in employment), I was given a book showing all of the doctors covered under my policy. I was happy to see that my thearapist was one of them and continued my thearpy with her. After the first session I receieved a letter from BCBS stating that my coverage did not include mental health issues (since I had only an individual policy and not a group policy) so they would not cover my bills. After extensive complaints and appeals they admitted that they sent me the wrong book for my policy which had stated that this doctor was covered by them and I was basically out of luck and ended up having to pay the bill myself. Can an insurance company really deny you mental health coverage? Isn't this a form of discrimination? I can't even see the doctor for depression without them denying my claim. What is wrong with this picture?

I'm a minor, and I'm currently uninsured because my father (through whom I was getting insurance) was layed off from his job a few weeks ago.
Recently I've gotten a bad cough, I have run out of contacts, and have developed a group of symptoms that point to polycystic ovary syndrome (which I NEED to get examined as soon as humanly possible to avoid further problems).
My family CANNOT afford a medical bill.

medicaid why are they so upset at the notion that they (who as a group use far more health care dollars than nonsmokers) might have to subsidize childrens health care??
Personally if we could just separate smokers onto their own medical insurance plan I would be happy as a lark.
