If you switch health insurance companies at work (say from a CIGNA group plan to another plan – lets say Blue Shield), what will happen the the out of pocket medical expenses you have incurred over that year? Are you just out of luck because you are now covered by a different group?
Absolutely NOT ! Another LIE ! Want to know who started this bit of misinformation? The Lewin Group, a consulting firm,,OWNED BY UNITED HEALTH CARE GROUP !! They stated an estimated 119 million people would switch to a public plan !! But the plan excludes those with employers plans,,so only 39million would choose the public plan. And those only if the health care costs privately would exceed 11percent of their income..AND, if cost became a factor, subsidies would be available to keep people to have health ins.. Wow,,doesn't that sound terrible ?? More later !!
Anyone really interested in what the 'facts' and the 'lies are can get a copy of Grampa's Sept. AARP Bulletin,,and verify whats happening..So far, this three page description lists the truth of whats taking place.. THEY the BIGGEST SENIOR endorser,,HAVE READ the BILL,,and Have NO axe to grind with this issue..If you notice, they name United Health Care as a distortor! Check it out !!
Golfer,,not if your new job HAS health care !! YOU read the plan. The govt plan is NOT to elilminate private health care, but to see that you have it! If your new job offers health care you get that..If there is NO health care available,,your employer has to pay 8 percent to the govt. and you pick up the rest of the premium..If your part is over eleven percent of your wage,,subsides are available.. Isn't that better than NO HEALTH CARE ?? And if we the people have to pay an extra usage tax or income tax or whatever tax..The right wanting to pay NO tax is why America is where we are today.. Look out,,your neighborhood bridge may fall down next week !! BUT,, you havent had to pay new taxes!!
WATER SK To TRY and inform Brain Dead 'SHEEPLE' who blindly follow the right Republicans who get their marching orders from the right conservative talk show MISFITS !! I try not to influence but to educate..After that, its your own stupidity or intelligence which guides your decisions !!

My wife and I are going to try and have a baby over the next year or so. We are covered under separate health insurance plans by our respective employers (she has an HMO, I have a PPO-HSA). There is a local hospital and OB-GYN medical group that is considered to be amongst the best in our area; although her insurance does not include the hospital and medical group in their network, mine does. Can the medical bills for the pre-natal care and delivery be covered under my insurance (considering that it as much my child as it is hers) even though she has her own health insurance that would cover the expenses from a different provider?
As a Bipolar person who has been successfully medicated with lithium for several years and otherwise takes great care of himself it drives me "crazy" that in most states Bipolar disorder is an automatic declination with health insurance companies (for private policies). It is not viewed as a pre-existing insurable condition like many other physical problems (and yes Bipolar disorder is of a physical basis). What bothers me even more is that people seem to be completely unaware that this discrimination goes on with our health insurance companies. I feel that there is no voice out there for the millions of people affected by mental health disorder health insurance discrimination. Does anyone know of any groups I can get involved with to spread awareness of this issue (aside from the usual writing congress reps regarding mental health parity legislation)???? Thanks!

I'm on Yaz currently, but am going back to school in August and will lose my awesome group health insurance when I quit work and upon pricing policies, have found that for me to be able to afford it, I may have to sacrifice perscription coverage. Meaning Yaz is gonna be out of my budget. I was wondering if their are any generics that people had good luck with that I could ask my DR or pharmacist about? Thanks!
I am 25 years old. I work for a small company. The pay is decent, but the insurance *****. The group rate for my company is too high ($200 a mo), so I decided to try and find insurance on my own. AHHHHH!!!!! Does ANYONE have ANY advice for me. I have no kids, I'm single. I'm willing to pay a high deductible, I just need to be able to get my freakin pap and maybe a check-up every now and then.
I applied for a job and got a good interview for a Health Insurance sales agent position. I found the listing online from careerbuilder and the interview went something like this –
-There were a group of us (4) who were applying and then they had this convincing presentation of what the company does (sell health insurance)
-They made us take a little test that seemed to be all about "Are you a good worker?"
-And then they took us aside for 1-on-1 interviews.
The whole theory of insurance is that a large group pays in every month while they are healthy so that those few who get sick can get care when they need it.
More on Aren't those with private health insurance already paying for the care of others?
I don't get. It was started in the 1940s when the Fed froze wages and employers attracted workers with perks such as health insurance, and now it's the norm. Why is it still in existence? Employers aren't responsible for providing car insurance, pet insurance, renter's insurance, home insurance, etc., why health insurance?
Also, if America is a nation of entrepreneurs and freedom, doesn't being shackled to a job you may not necessarily like just to get the group benefits rather confining especially if you want to start your own business, work for yourself, work two part-time jobs or freelance? That sounds anti-freedom and anti-capitalistic. Japan is a capitalist society adn they require that all Japanese buy health insurance, therefore, one's insurance is not tied to one's job and one can work whatever type of job he wants. I would love to be able to teach at the community college, do some freelance translations on the side and earn what I earned when I worked in an office, but it's the health insurance costs that are outrageous for people with pre-existing conditions. Do you honestly think that this employment/health insurance situation is good in the long run? Doesn't it hamper our job mobility?
